Workplace injury lawyer

Workers’ compensation is not the only claim after a job injury. Advo Law, APC handles third-party personal injury when someone other than your employer caused the harm: a negligent driver on a delivery, a dangerous property you were sent to, a defective product, a subcontractor on a site. Hov J. Kachatoorian (CalBar #282819). Contingency. Glendale and La Cañada Flintridge. (800) 808-4613.

This firm is not a workers’ comp mill. If the only defendant is your employer, you likely belong in the comp system. If a third party is in the mix, that is the case we take.

When a third-party case exists

Company vehicle crashes, warehouse and construction site conditions created by another contractor, trucking while on the clock, and dog attacks on a route. Comp may pay some medical bills; the third-party case is where pain, wage loss beyond comp, and the real liability live. Those two tracks have to be coordinated so a comp lien does not swallow the injury case.

Questions

Can I sue my boss? Usually not in California for a pure workplace injury. You can often sue the other driver, the property owner, or another contractor.

Will this mess up my workers’ comp claim? It has to be handled together. Tell both the comp adjuster and this firm that both claims exist.

What if I was an independent contractor? That can change both the comp picture and the injury claim. Bring the contract and the 1099.
